Resolved Question: Beauty Pageant Advice?

Hey everyone! So every year my school does a beauty pageant, and I have decided since it is my senior year I would do it. I adore public speaking and rarely receive nervous. My one concern is answering the question I need help answering them!! Some of the questions are 1. What is the most significant accomplishment in my life and why 2. How can we better promote volunteerism in America 3.What is the biggest problem facing our educational system today . 4What qualities do you like most about you r self and why 5.How credible is new media .....really any help answering these would be very helpful!!! no i really dont need the ego boost, its just for fun. I'm already very confident in myself not winning would not let me down at every, I just wunna do it

I'm not a big fan of beauty pagents in general. But if you are going for pure beauty, I feel that most women look a lot better in understated makeup, smoother hair, and less gaudy clothing. Who in the heck thinks red glitter, 2 foot high hair, and oompa loompa tans emphasize beauty?

I adore pageants and I was wondering if judges have any stereotypes. Is there really I certain standard of beauty for pageant or is also based on your confidence. This pageant just has casual wear and evening wear. A description of myself is hourglass shape ( but I am considered plus size ) I am carmel complexion. I have almond shaped brown eyes. Skin is clear. My height is 5'1 . Here are more details that may be important in this question. This is a university pagaent that is open to any female on campus. Everyone pays 15 dollars to be in the pagaent. It only consists of a casual portion and evening wear portion. We do not have to talk. It is a very simple pagaent.

kay, so I just competed in one of (a company's name I will not mention) preliminary pageants and overall I thought it was a pretty good pageant. every though there were a few things I thought were very unprofessionally such as some of the judges were gone for several minutes at a time during the pageant, which i think is very unfair, and one of the girls that made it to the top 10's mom was a judge in the pageant and was a judge from the personal interviews,(judging her possess daughter!) So any way I was wondering what some good pageants in southeast michigan would be. This was only my first pageant so it doesn't have to be a major pageant, but eventually I would like to receive into bigger pageants. i really want to sign up for the air force, but before i acctually make that phone call i have so many questions. if you could answer any of these questions for me i would really appreciate it. ok here goes these are about boot camp.. I am doing a paper in my English class its the first part of the essay tell me if you think its good? Why do people do what they do? Prejudice in America is still here, but, reduced a great deal over the long period of time. The whole world is prejudice over some nice of what they call “different” groups of people. For example my most favorite country, the country I adore, the country I was born in, the Philippines is prejudice. They say the Philippines is the country with the most beauty pageants in a year, but Filipino society looks down on dark skinned people. It is not race, but, literally the color of your skin white but not too white is “superior” in the country. Dark skin means the laborer the worker. France is now more racist toward blacks then ever, because of the growing population, Brazil is prejudice toward Afro-Brazilians, The African country Niger is prejudice towards what they call “Diffa Arabs”, Australia are prejudice towards aborigines the poorest group of Australia. The whole world has victims of prejudice, every continent has prejudice, every country has prejudice, and almost every people have some form of prejudice.

Resolved Question: Should makeup be banned from of the Miss Universe pageant to honor natural beauty?

Many beauty pageant girls look common without makeup. I think less than 10% of beauty pageant girls are beautiful without makeup and fancy clothes. I think Mr. Donald Trump who owns the Miss Universe pageant should ban hair dye and breast implants from the competition. He should also ban makeup during the swimsuit segment. That way we can look the contestants with their natural hair color and natural breast size. We could also look the girl’s faces without makeup during the swimsuit competition. The girls could wear makeup during the opening segment and the evening gown segment. I think it is time for the world to set a new standard of beauty based on what is real. In my opinion we deserve to select Miss Universe based on her natural born beauty. What do you think? Note: I have seen girls in needy villages in Vietnam and Thailand and other place who look amazingly beautiful without makeup. I have seen girls in the USA who look amazing without makeup. But those girls usually do not enter beauty pageants because it is too expensive and they don't have an obsessed mom. By making beauty pageant girls show their real face to the world we can weed out the wanna be beauty queens and find the true winners.

Voting Question: Pushy parents - a good thing or bad?

Do you think they are good for kids as they give them a sense of steer and direction or do they cause kids to suffocate? I watched a programme on TV yesterday about a mom who pushed her daughter difficult towards modelling (fashion). She was 18 but it's not something that was just decided overnight - her mom had been pushing her for years. In the end she won a modelling contract which is good and brought tears of happiness to the 18 year old but I couldn't help but wonder if the mom was living her possess dreams through her child? This seems common with mothers who take kids to beauty pageants too. I have an uncle who seem to have mapped out his daughter's entire life. He chose the private school; has picked a college; the career for her even though she is just a young teen. I talked to him about it and his explanation was that so many young people are directionless, doing nothing these days, with little idea what to do, so they need a mapped out plan and focus to give them direction. My possess parents were very tough too, especially my mum - she was the "tough adore" type. As a child and teen, if I ever came home with anything less than "A" grades, I would receive reprimanded quite severely to the point of tears. It made me suffocate at school to the point of rebellion. Things changed at 18 when I rebelled heavily forcing them to back off. They wanted me to be a doctor (later that changed to scientist) but I didn't. Anyway, what are your opinions of pushy parents?

I feel as if ive done everything i can for my boyfriend. He has a problem that he cant receive over my past, and sees nothing ive done for him. (my past isn't that bad) He use to smoke a lot of weed and while he was home during the summer i got him to cease. He went to college and started again. Open Question: How can you tell if a beauty pageant is rigged?

I decided to watch a school pageant yesterday. I'm speechless. The 2 girls who won in the senior class looked absolutely terrible. Sorry, I'm not trying to sound like a mean person, but anyone with eyes would have never suspected that those girls would EVER win anything. I mean arrive ON, the girls who lost had perfect figures and dresses. They also did their walk PERFECTLY. So why did the least attractive girls win? The runner up was at least 200 pounds and had poorly applied make-up. The actual winner was about 250 pounds and had masculine features. It just seemed like a joke to me. I'm not taking exclusively about their weight, but the audience thought it was ridiculous also. They didn't have good bone structures or anything.

It would be better to completely ban makeup until the final 5 girls where chosen. Then they could have a 10 minute break while the final 5 girls race to put on makeup. That way we can weed out the less beautiful girls and look the final 5 with makeup.

Resolved Question: Are straight, white, males discriminated more than any other group?

...being that it is widely accepted and common practice to exclude whites from consideration for college scholarships (UNCF), beauty pageants (miss black america), and consideration for jobs (affirmative action) based soley on their skin color. BET is an tv network that will not include programming that features white (or any other "race"). A white-only organization called "the race" would be villified and avoided like the plague by anyone seeking public office, while la raza is pandered to. The term "minority" means not a white man. Minority status offers greater access to home loans, education (pre-k where I live is only available for students whom english is their second language), work contracts, and greater punishments for crimes committed against you (hate crimes = crimes against anyone who is not a straight, white male). It is widely accepted in the black community that black on black crime is worse than crimes against other races...I've never even heard the term white on white crime. Crime is crime...is it not. Is "reverse-racism" not racism. When will we every realize that we are not african-americans, mexican-americans, chinese-americans, etc... we are every americans and that is enough to be proud of . NW, don't care to have white only organizations, I would adore it if everyone had EQUAL rights. But your attitude is exactly what I'm talking about...it is okay to opress a group because their ancestors oppressed people. the fact is that minorities have more rights, but still run around crying that they are oppressed, when they're not. It is as if they wish they were so people will feel sorry for them. I believe that whites are the least racist people in this country these days and are institutionally discriminated against and it is not even called racism. I was raised to believe that two wrongs do not make a right...those who were oppressed have become exaclty what they fought against... Lamp, I am not saying that not being allowed into beauty pagaents is at the same level of the discrimination of slavery, I dislike discrimination where ever and whenever it happens, against anyone. I believe everyone should be judged on their individual merits...every I am saying is that exclusion based on race IS racism, even if it is against whites...I really don't look how anyone can deny that. Lisa, yes whites are the majority (although I'm really not certain with the influx of illegals...we don't really know how many there are. the estimate was at 20 million six years ago). Does that mean it is okay to discriminate against them? Electing a blacck president I think proves my point. Obama could not have won without the majority of white voters...period, indicating the majority of whites are NOT racist. The white wall road billionaire is a stereotype that other groups use. It suggest that every whites are wealthy...the fact is that the majority of needy people are white..look it up If you must now I was born and raised in houston, texas. I attended majority black schools and I was discriminated against on a regular basis. My best friends were black and hispanic. I've dated other races. I would not even mind if my daughter dates other races, as long as they are good people. In fact, I honestly, would much rather had the $700 Billion bail-out go for reparations for decendents of slaves. My only issue with reparations is that nearly, 700,000 americans, mostly white, gave their lives to end slavery...that should be paymeny enough. Ask yourself this question: Would you rather be a black/hispanic person walking around in a white neighborhood at midnight...or would you rather be a white person walking around a black or hispanic neighborhood at midnight. If you break it down to it's simplest form, exclusion of ANYONE, even whites, based on race IS Racism...the sooner you can admit that, the sooner we can end racism in this country... According to the chart shown at http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0104552.html , which is based on info from the US Census Bureau, there are 94,705,000 white households earning income. Of those, 11.8% earn $15,000/year or less. Meaning there are 11,175,190 white households that are way below the poverty line. As compared to 3,503,596 black households and 2,114,599 hispanic households. The point being that the popular stereotype that every whites are wealthy and have it easy is greatly inaccurate. The reality is the there are more than 3 times more needy white families than needy black families; and 5 times more needy white families than needy hispanic families. To reiterate...there are way more needy whites in this country than needy blacks or hispanics. I know that is shocking to every minorities and goes against everything you've been taught to believe...but it is simply the truth
